Finding God in All Things: Experiencing Ignatian Spirituality
February 13 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
An event every week that begins at 10:00am on Tuesday, repeating until March 20, 2018
St. Ignatius of Loyola gifted the world with his Spiritual Exercises 500 hundred years ago. Their relevance and impact has been and continues to be profound. Join us as we explore them in depth in what he called a “retreat in daily life.” For 6 weeks, our group will gather to deepen our personal relationships with God while building community, with the Spiritual Exercises as our guide. Themes included in the Spiritual Exercises include God’s mercy, episodes in the life of Jesus, the passion of Jesus, and the resurrection of Jesus, together with a contemplation on God’s love. This last is often seen as the goal of Ignatian spirituality, to find God in all things. This is a wonderful way to enter into the season of Lent.
Participants will need to bring a Bible (suggested translations are the RNAB or the NRSV), a journal, and guide book (under $20, Amazon link sent upon registration). This retreat is open to all people interested in exploring or deepening their spirituality in the Christian tradition. Space limited to 10 participants.
If you’d like to learn more, a free information session will be held on Wednesday, February 8 at 10am.
