(FREE) Community Sing!
Sunday, February 10, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pmFree
In Zimbabwe it is said “If you can walk you can dance, and if you can talk you can sing.”
A “community sing” is about ordinary people joining their friends and neighbors in a public place to sing, just for the fun of it. At each meeting, participants learn song parts by listening and singing back, not by reading music. By the end, there’s often a beautiful three part harmony that emerges. This gathering is a multi-generational, bring-the-family* kind of event, and absolutely for both singers and non-singers alike. Our goal is not to “perform,” but to create community through song!
We’ll be offering Community Sing! regularly throughout the year…check back soon for future dates. These events are free of charge, but donations for Kirsten’s time and talent will be accepted. Please scroll down to the Rsvp link below under the map to let us know you plan to attend. And you can learn more about the Community Sing movement and philosophy HERE.
Our Fearless Leader: Kirsten Lundeberg has participated in numerous Community Singing workshops at the Omega Institute under the leadership of Maggie Wheeler (who played the character Janice in Friends!) and Emile Hassan Dyer, and describes it as one of the most fun experiences she’s had as an adult. She is thrilled about bringing people together (singers and people who don’t think they can sing) to build community through song!
