(FREE) Salon: Bringing Home the Dharma
Friday, October 12 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pmFree
Buddhist teacher Joseph Goldstein has two bestselling books called First the Ecstasy, then the Laundry, and Bringing Home the Dharma, both of which highlight the importance of engaging with our daily, mundane tasks with the same focus, compassion and awe that can arise out of our spiritual practice. With so much turmoil going on in our country and our world, it sometimes seems more accessible to apply the wisdom gleaned through our various spiritual practices and life experiences to the “big things” like world peace, but it’s the small moments everyday that make up our lives. And the only place where true peace really exists. Come join this lively discussion about what this looks like in your life… both your moments of clarity and the places where you struggle most.
Salon Series events are FREE, but you must reserve your space by registering below. Donations are accepted to defray the cost of space rental.
Each event is facilitated by a “host” who has expertise in this topic area. The host will introduce the theme for the evening, and facilitate a lively group discussion.
Each Salon event is a potluck dinner, and participants are invited to contribute to the spread. If you are not able to bring something, please come as you are! There is always plenty of food… Drinks are provided.
Space is limited to 10 people per event, and spots go quickly. It’s important that you honor your commitment to attend. If you need to cancel for any reason, please let us know us asap.
