From Writer to Author
Monday, May 7, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm$39
Writing is largely a solitary act focused on creating. But after that creation is published, the writer must be public, and focus on the business of writing. This panel of published authors, publishing and marketing experts, will share strategies for mapping the path from writer to author by capitalizing on your individual, personal and professional strengths. We offer practical advice and strategies for how to manage the shock of the transition and create steps for selling your book and your brand, whether or not you have an agent.
Joanne Lozar Glenn, freelance writer and editor. Among her many books is Memoir Your Way: Tell Your Story Through Writing, Recipes, Quilts, Graphic Novels and More (co-author, Skyhorse Publishing, 2016).
Jennifer Crawford, owner of Social Media Rescue, a boutique marketing agency that works with small businesses, creatives, and organizations on unique approaches to social media marketing, branding, new media, and business strategy.
Meredith Maslich, CEO of the indie publisher Possibilities Publishing House. Since 2012, the Possibilities Publishing family has grown to include three unique imprints, Eaton Press, Thumbkin Prints, and Sparkle&Snark.
Jessica Robinson, Jessica’s first novel, Caged, was self-published October 2016. Her true, personal story, “The Game,” was published in the short story collection Sucker for Love, and “What Are the Odds” was published in The Northern Virginia Review. She is also a co-author of the anthology Roar: True Tales of Women Warriors.
