Mindfulness for Middle Schoolers (6-Week Series)
Tuesday, January 22, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 4:15 pm
An event every week that begins at 3:00pm on Tuesday, repeating until Tuesday, February 26, 2019
Kids have an enormous amount of pressure and competing demands on their time, which can leave them feeling overwhelmed and stressed out. This 6-week series helps middle schoolers develop life skills to reduce stress, manage emotions and increase focus and attention, so they can thrive and have a better sense of overall well-being. Each session includes discussion, activities, and opportunities to practice mindfulness skills in a small-group setting.
“Research has proven that mindfulness training integrates the brain and strengthens the important executive functions that support emotional and social intelligence as well as academic success.” – Daniel J. Siegel, M.D. & Clinical Professor, Author of Mindsight and Brainstorm: The Power and Purpose of the Teenage Brain.
